Just wondering, how much is Shanghai tube or Metro? Does it have any round trip ticket, daily pass or monthly travel card?

Shanghai Metro will charge by how many stops you travel. Usually it costs starting from 3RMB to 9RMB, basically its price is way above Beijing Subway which residents are heavily encouraged to take subway by government. By the way, Beijing Subway will cost you only 2RMB no matter how far you travel.
Shanghai Metro doesn’t have any round trip ticket, daily pass or monthly travel card, and that is a bad news to tourists and local tourisms. I guess local government is trying to balance tourists to ride a taxi or whatever transportation more.
However, Shanghai Metro does issue transporation card which is good for local residents. By swiping your transportation card, you could find it is OK for taxi, ferry or whatever public transportation in Shanghai. However, I would not recommend you get yours if your stay will be no longer than one month. 20 ro 30RMB deposit will be required by public transportation card.
