Occasionally, I was told by friend about flying from Hangzhou to somewhere in China or outside China is way cheaper than Shanghai.
Yeah, Shanghai Pudong international airport or Hongqiao airport is a great transport hub to either access China internally or the world externally. No wonder flying from Shanghai is more expensive than from Hangzhou. So, if you think it happen to you saving big bucks from Hangzhou, why don’t take a chance for a try? Plus a beautiful visit in Hangzhou, a good deal, huh?
But then, how should we go to Hangzhou airport from Shanghai though?
Take the trains from Shanghai South Railway station, the fast CRH or D trains (Dongche in Chinese) are highly recommended and takes around one hour and twenty minutes to Hangzhou. Then have a taxi ride from Hangzhou train station to the airport. Because it is not far away between two places. And it will take about 30 - 40 minutes (Please do plan one hour time in case of traffic jam) and cost you about 70 to 80 RMB, but no more than 100 bucks.
There are also regular shuttle buses between Hangzhou train station and the airport. And you have multiple choices to make sure whiche one is best option working for you. Airport shuttle bus from Hangzhou railway station to Hangzhou airport will cost you around RMB20.
However, you do need to have a plan about your schedule. Don’t be too rush to miss your airplane. A good choice is to leave Shanghai in previous day, and stop over at Hangzhou one day to relax around scenic Western Lakes, and catch whenever flight in next day.
BTW, if you have bothering luggage, you may call an expo taxi to Shanghai Huangpu Bus Station first, then catch an Air Asia shuttle bus to Hangzhou xiaoshan airport. However, please be aware bus schedule matching with your flight time, and plus more than two hours journey on the highway.
