Ferry is a major transportation tool used by local Shanghai residents. It helps people crossing Huangpu river between Puxi and Pudong. As more links have been built to cross Huangpu river, now Shanghai Ferry is becoming less importance than before. But some overnight lines do help a lot for late night commuters.

Here is timetable for major lines crossing the Huangpu river.

Fuxin Road Ferry Dock to Zhangyang Road Ferry Dock:   6am to 7pm from Puxi,  6:10am to 6:50pm from Pudong

Dongjiadu Ferry Dock to Tangqiao Ferry Dock: 5:30am to 10:30pm from Puxi, 5:40am to 10:20pm from Pudong

Lujiabang Road Ferry Dock to South Dock Road Ferry:  open around clock

East Jinlin Road Ferry Dock to Dongchang Road Ferry Dock: 7am to 10pm from Puxi, 7am to 10pm from Pudong

Shanghai ferry has more other lines to cross river, but the major ones are in the above list and used often by tourists as well.
