Every year, Shangha rail will reach its peak time around July, and this year is no exception. Shanghai Railway Station was packed by a flash crowd of passengers from students, tourists, and people visiting their relatives settled in other cities.
By estimation, Shanghai Railway Station will transport 170k passengers daily which started from July 5 to 15. And Shanghai rail has arranged extra 7 trains to accommodate the increasing demand.
Passengers are mainly going to cities like Xi’an, Lhasa, and Beijing in summer peak.
If you plan to travel this peak season in summer, you’d better double check your ticket in advanced. For most Chinese, travelling with a flash crowd is a normal trip. But as a foreign tourist new to China, you may need to adjust some to feel comfortable.
