When  I was waiting for Kenny in the Lobby of Sofitel Hotel in East Nanjing Road, I saw this machine. It looks like a normal ATM, but with the Currency Exchange sign on it.

Yes, it is an Auto currency Exchange teller machine. I had a little play on it. The menu was available in 3 languages: Chinese, English and Japanese. The machine can help check the exchange rate. And I checked the rate and found it was actually better than those provided by Sofitel.

Because I didn’t bring any foreign currency with me today, I didn’t try the teller function. But the staff at the hotel told me that visitors can exchange more than 10 foreign currencies on the machine and at present, the XTM inside the Sofitel Hotel is the only one in Shanghai!
