Now Shanghai is the spot center because of Expo 2010. When I walked on the street in the past months, I could tell more and more exotic faces visiting city.
Today I watched real TV show on the site of Expo, and I really don’t think it is a good experience to queue a couple of hour to gain entry to the pavilion in hot summer. Now I believe Shanghai weather is still mild, specially a cooler air in the morning and evening. However, scorching days are approaching in the coming June, July, and August, so be prepared to take measure against any unpleasant baking days when you happen to pay a visit to Expo 2010.
Forget about Expo 2010 which will span more than six months to welcome people from all over the world. Here I would like to share when is the best time to visit Shanghai as I thought by Shanghai weather.
April and October are best seasons coming to Shanghai, and weather is mild and pleasant. One is Spring with flowers in blossom and the other is Autumn with ripe fruits. Visiting a water town in a sunshine day is really an unforgettable life experience in April or October. In general, we got many beautiful days in the April or October than in other months.
May is a good time to visit Shanghai too. But if you are lucky, you may be baked for one or two days in May. That’s OK, not a big deal.
June is turning into hot gradually and specially got scorching or stuffed plus humid days in the second half of the month. From June to July, we probably had a plum rain season which features humidity in the air.
July and August are really days in the summer. You won’t walk on the street and have a sunbath to get your skin tanned. I think sunlight will hurt your skin badly without sunblock. But we don’t have scorching days in every July and August day, and occasionally typhoon will visit us which is a fantastic feeling to me.
Septmber likes May and is a good time to come.
November is not that cold as you may expect, but sweater should be on your cover. You could visit Shanghai in this month, but not beauty as Septmeber or October.
December is turning colder and colder and not bad as January. Again, you could visit but if I were you and I won’t unless you have a Christmas party in Shanghai.
January is almost same as December.
February is the coldest month in Shanghai. If you want to experience Chinese new year, then you could come to eat dumpling and blow off firecrackers with us.
So try to plan to Shanghai in Spring and Autumn, I bet you will enjoy most.
