Now we have four train stations and two airports in Shanghai. Transport at different stations and airports is sometime cumbersome with luggage. But if you travel with light luggage, Shanghai metro is a good option from one transport to other. Then metro operation hours become more important to us because we can’t 100% be sure bullet trains or flights arriving on time.

FYI, this is a list of metro operation hours at shanghai train stations and airports. (Last update on 7-8-2010)

Shanghai Railway Station:
1. First train north to fujin road station: 05:43, and first train south to xinzhuang: 05:30
2. Last train north to fujin road station: 23:08, and last train south to xinzhuang: 23:00

South Shanghai Railway Station:
1. First train north to Shanghai Railway Station: 04:45, north to fujin road station: 5:18, and first train south to xinzhuang: 05:54
2. Last train north to fujin road station or Shanghai Railway Station: 22:42, and last train south to xinzhuang: 23:24

Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station:
1. First train westward to East Xujin road station: 06:07, eastward to Guanglan road station: 05:33, and if you need go further to pudong airport, then first train transit at Guanglan road station is 06:30.
2. Last train westward to East Xujin road station: 23:40, last train eastward to Guanglan road station: 22:48, and last train transit to pudong international airport is 21:00. (Too early, huh? Flight arriving late, can’t catch last metro, then what is option to downtown?)

West Shanghai Railway Station:
1. First train northward to North Jiading: 06:13, or northward to Anting station: 6:23, and first train southward to Jiangshu road station: 06:13
2. Last train northward to North Jiading: 22:13, or northward to Anting station: 22:08, and last train southward to Jiangshu road station: 22:18

Hongqiao airport terminal 2:
1. First train westward to East Xujin road station: 06:05, eastward to Guanglan road station: 05:35, and if you need go to pudong airport, then first train transit at Guanglan road station is 06:30.
2. Last train westward to East Xujin road station: 23:38, last train eastward to Guanglan road station: 22:50, and last train transit to pudong international airport is 21:00.

Pudong international airport:
1. First train westward to Guanglan road station is 06:30, and the last train 21:00.
