Taxi in red color doesn’t have a good reputation among locals. We could search a whole bunch of complaints on the Internet. It is all because of their services.
Why their services can’t parallel to peers in Shanghai taxi? I think the major reason is lack of customer service mangement. Unlike other taxi drivers working for Dazhong and Qiangsheng etc., they may not belong to any taxi company. They just worked for their own. Therefore, there is no any mechanism to regulate their service as well.
So if you have other choices for taxi or don’t rush your time to place where you go, try to avoid them as possible as you could.

Also depends what kind of RED taxi.
There are dark red and a bright red taxis.
I usually find the bright red taxis fairly good.
Also some red taxis which are new cars or well managed looking ones, provide good services with three stars!
