Hangzhou railway station is located in 893 Jiangcheng Road, Shangcheng District. It is the biggest railway station in Zhejiang province.

Hangzhou railway station has two names in Chinese: 杭州火车站 or 杭州城站火车站. Most locals call it as 杭州城站火车站 (literally Hangzhou city railway station). Station was re-built several times after it was in use in 1906, and the latest station was erected in 1999 to handle more demand for capacity.

Public transport services at station:

1. By metro
Now there is no metro at Hangzhou railway station. The first metro line in Hangzhou is expected to operate in 2012.

2. By bus
There are several city buses to transport passengers from station.
If going to West Lake in Hangzhou, you could either walk toward west about 2km to reach or take a taxi. But if you want to explore more about West Lake, you may rent a bicycle to tour.
Going to Hangzhou Indoor Stadium or Wulinmen Square, you could take bus No. K10. Ticket price is 2RMB.
Going to Linyin Temple, you could take bus No. K7. Ticket price is 2RMB.
Going to Huanglong Sports Center or Zhejiang University (main campus), you could take bus No. K21, and ticket price is 2RMB.
Going to Hangzhou South railway station, you could take bus no. K300 and 537.
Going to West Hangzhou Coach Bus Station, your bus is K49, and ticket price is 2RMB.
Going to North Hangzhou Coach Bus Station, your bus is K95.
Going to Hangzhou Central Coach Bus Station, bus no. is K508.

3. By airport shuttle bus
Going to airport, passengers could board airport shuttle bus to Xiaoshan airport. More detail is here.

4. By taxi
If taking a taxi, this is an estimated taxi charge by mileage in Hangzhou.

5. By coach bus
Next to station, there is one coach bus station - Hangzhou South Coach Bus Station. From bus station, passengers could continue their journey to Southern cities in Zhejiang, Fujian, and Guangdong province. BTW, South coach bus station has bus services to Shanghai Expo park since June, 2010.
