As Shanghai to Hangzhou high speed intercity rail is close to open, more coach buses from Hangzhou to Shanghai have joined to run.
New buses leaves from South Hangzhou long distance bus station, and to Shanghai Hongqiao long distance bus terminal (a.k.a. West Shanghai long distance bus terminal). In the first week, there have four buses to run daily, and after September 19, three more will join the fleet. The whole journey is 2 hour 50 minutes via highway, and ticket price is 48RMB.
Going to Shanghai from Hangzhou by bus, travelers could board bus at different long distance bus terminals which are North Hangzhou bus terminal, Jiubao Central bus terminal, and South Hangzhou bus terminal. In South Hangzhou bus terminal, expo buses are still available to East Shanghai bus terminal near to expo park, so please make sure boarding on the right bus to Shanghai.
Now there are total 55 coach buses going to Shanghai daily. Travelers could buy bus tickets in 5 days advanced in any city ticket outlets around Hangzhou.
