Nanjing to Hangzhou by bullet G trains Monday, November 1st, 2010
After new high speed rails from Shanghai to Nanjing & Shanghai to Hangzhou have been opened one after another. Travel time by bullet G trains has been cut significantly from four hours to three hours.
Now there are five pairs of bullet G trains running between Nanjing and Hangzhou, and the fastest trains only take 2 hours and 48 minutes to cover the whole journey which is about 500km.
However, direct intercity rail from Nanjing to Hangzhou is under construction now, and if completed, travel time will only take about 59 minutes without detouring Shanghai Hongqiao.
Now train fares between Nanjing and Hangzhou are 364RMB for first class, and 228RMB for second class.
