Shanghai Peace Hotel will become the most expensive hotel in Shanghai when it re-opens in March 2010. The average price of Shanghai Peace Hotel was 100USD per night before the renovation. How to choose, International Branded Hotel or State Owned Hotel in Shanghai
Tuesday, May 26th, 2009I was always asked by my friends to give some comments on the hotels in Shanghai.
Although all the hotels in China are graded by star classification system, I do find differences between state owned hotels and international branded hotels even they are in the same grade.
Generally speaking, 4-5 star international branded hotels and state owned hotels are similar on location, room facilities etc. Some state owned hotels even have better location, environment etc than those international branded hotels because only state owned hotels are allowed to operate in the historic buildings. Smallest Hostel in Shanghai
Tuesday, May 19th, 2009Today I was visiting a customer near People’s Square. After the visit, I was walking along South Guang Xi Road and suddenly I saw a red banner ‘The smallest hostel in Shanghai, only 7 square meter’. This reminded me of news I read a couple of weeks ago. It said that New World Holiday opened the smallest hostel in Shanghai. So I decided to walk in to find how small it is.
When I walked in, the first impression is what a small lobby. There were two staff working at the lobby and the room price is listed on the wall.
