Park Hotel is located in the very centre of Shanghai overlooking People’s Square which is also the busiest and biggest Metro Station in Shanghai. To get to the Park Hotel from Pudong Airport, you can:
1. Take the Maglev train from Pudong airport and change to Metro Line 2 at Longyang Road Station. The Maglev train station is just next to the Metro station, Long Yang Road. So it is pretty easy to find your way. The train to Song Hong Road direction will take you to People’s Square. Get off at People’s Square, take the Exit 9, the Park Hotel is right in front of you. I will be on a business travel to Hefei next week. I’ve only been to Hefei a couple of times in the past few years either by flight or train. Both were not so good. Flights were not so frequent and trains took too much time. I knew that now bullet trains runs between Shanghai and Hefei from last year and the journey only takes about 3.5 hours. So I think it is the best way to travel Shanghai to Hefei. First class seats cost about 185RMB and second class cost about 150RMB. Time schedule as below, hope it might be useful for others.
Please note all the bullet trains departure from Shanghai Railway Station not South one. Read More…

The observation deck on the Lu Pu bridge was officially open to the public from 1st May. Today I went there to experience the best view point of Shanghai 2010 Expo.
Lu Pu Bridge is the southest bridge over the HuangPu River connecting the PuXi and PuDong. It is also the longest steel arch bridge in the world.
Get there: currently only the entrance at Lu Ban Road on the Pu Xi side(west side of the Huangpu river) is open. So I took Metro Line 4 and got off at Lu Ban Road station and walked about 10 minutes to get there. Read More…

This is the question often asked by my friends. My personal suggestion is Spring (April) and Autumn (October - November). During these two seasons, it is always dry in Shanghai and the temperature is moderate and most feel pleasant.
Traditionally people will think spring starts from March in Shanghai. But I found before the 5th April which is the Tomb Sweeping public holiday in China, the weather can be very chilly sometimes. But after 5th April, it becomes clearly warmer and the day time becomes longer. It usually gets dark after 5:30pm. Read More…
