Anita, my friend is going back to Sweden for Christmas this week. So we went to Fengshine Market today for some Christmas gifts!
The reason why Anita asked me to go with her is because she thought I would be helpful with the bargain as I am a Chinese! But I feel really sorry that negotiation is the skill I am lack indeed!
But anyway, see what we got! And the prices are the best I can get….. may still not that good….. Read More…
When I saw the huge Christmas tree in the lobby of my office building, I decided to start my year end shopping with some Christmas deco first.
After consulting some colleagues, the right direction: Yu Garden.
Yu Garden is not only a garden, actually it is a area full or markets, small shops, street foods etc. Sometimes local Shanghainese refer it as the Shanghai version of Yiwu because there are a few wholesale markets of gifts, art crafts, clothing, accessories etc around Yu Garden as well. Read More…

Today I was discussing with Kitty what kind of shoes I should get for my yoga class. To be honest, I don’t want anything fancy or colourful. Just simple basic white canvas shoes.

I found shopping in IKEA is really tiring especially for people who live in Pudong. First we need to travel all the way from East to the West. And then non-stop walking inside the store till really starving.
And then I found I have no choice but eat at the crazy crowded IKEA Cafe because there is nothing (no restaurants, no shops etc) around this huge yellow and blue building! Read More…
Yesterday after I had this exhausting shopping in Qipu Road, I returned to West Nanjing Road at about 3pm. I went to the McDonald’s at the West Nanjing Road near Chengdu Road (the elevated road) to have a very late lunch.
I was surprised to find there were quite a few people there, and most of them were foreigners. Then I saw those big black garbage bags almost under every seat. So stuffs there are well selected to meet foreign tourists needs, fake brands clothing, traditional Chinese clothing, Chinese crafts, toys, tailor suits, pearls, jewelleries, you can find all there. Question from Zlatko:
I am staying in Shanghai for a few days and would like to buy some table tennis (TT) equipment (rubbers, blades, t-shirts, ETC.). Thus, I feel free to kindly ask you to give me the information where could I find some proffessional TT stores because I cannot find them on the Internet. I thought there would be such a store at every corner but it seems I was quite wrong. Would appreciate 2-3 addresses (if possible nearby Jing’an district). Thank you very much. Read More…
