Mega Mart, a Korean Supermarket near IKEA Monday, November 23rd, 2009
I found shopping in IKEA is really tiring especially for people who live in Pudong. First we need to travel all the way from East to the West. And then non-stop walking inside the store till really starving.
And then I found I have no choice but eat at the crazy crowded IKEA Cafe because there is nothing (no restaurants, no shops etc) around this huge yellow and blue building! Read More…
Fenshine Fashion & Accessorise Market (Taobao City) Sunday, November 22nd, 2009
Yesterday after I had this exhausting shopping in Qipu Road (a cheap cloth shopping street in Shanghai), I returned to West Nanjing Road at about 3pm. I went to the McDonald’s at the West Nanjing Road near Chengdu Road (the elevated road) to have a very late lunch.
I was surprised to find there were quite a few people there, and most of them were foreigners. Then I saw those big black garbage bags almost under every seat. The first guess I had was that like myself, they also just finished their shopping in Qipu Road. But later I found I was totally wrong. After I stepped out of McDonald’s, I saw this posh office building and a few foreigners were gathering at the entrance. Is this one more Xiangyang market or Xinyang market? Read More…

Photos of A.P. Plaza at Shanghai Science&Technology Museum Wednesday, November 4th, 2009
Today I went to A.P. Plaza at Shanghai Science and Technology Museum again. And I really feel that it is a good place to recommend if you are a foreign traveller in Shanghai who has little time but needs to shop some gifts for yourself or your friends, families.
A.P. Plaza is really a one stop shopping mall especially for these needs. It clearly targets the foreign tourists. So stuffs there are well selected to meet foreign tourists needs, fake brands clothing, traditional Chinese clothing, Chinese crafts, toys, tailor suits, pearls, jewelleries, you can find all there. Question from Zlatko:
I am staying in Shanghai for a few days and would like to buy some table tennis (TT) equipment (rubbers, blades, t-shirts, ETC.). Thus, I feel free to kindly ask you to give me the information where could I find some proffessional TT stores because I cannot find them on the Internet. I thought there would be such a store at every corner but it seems I was quite wrong. Would appreciate 2-3 addresses (if possible nearby Jing’an district). Thank you very much. Read More…

Jointek Wine Shop at 96 Plaza Shanghai Saturday, September 5th, 2009
Today is Wendy’s birthday, so I decided to bring her a bottle of wine. It took me a while to figure out where I could find those good wines in town because we don’t see many wine shops in Shanghai!
Some ideas popped in my mind (oh, maybe just two)
-Supermarket
-Marks & Spencer in West Nanjing Road
I just don’t bother to go a long way for a bottle of wine. Then I remembered I passed a little wine shop inside 96 Plaza. So I decided to give it a try.
