GM plant is located in WaiGaoQiao, Pudong new area district. It is almost at the east end of Shanghai.

So when you get there by taxi, definitely you could get back through taxi too.

How?

Ususally, there are a couple of taxis waiting there to drive passengers back to city.  You could take one, however, please do choose with branded top such as Dazhong, Bashi, Qiangsheng, Jingjiang etc.. Get around Shanghai by Taxi Sunday, May 10th, 2009

Taxi is another convenient way to get around Shanghai . Taxi is paid by meters and starts 12RMB for first 3km and then 2.4RMB per km after that. If you take the taxi 11pm – 5am, night fare applied which 16RMB for the first 3km and 3.1RMB per km after that. (New fee rule has been applied since 10/11/2009)

You can pay the taxi fee by cash or public transportation card. Do ask for the receipt which is a printed out slip. It helps if you lost anything on the cab or you would like to complain if the driver overcharges you. Read More…

Shanghai Taxi Available in English Saturday, May 9th, 2009

Shanghai Qiangsheng Group launched a new service for English-speaking passengers on May 1, 2009.

English-speaking operators will be available via interphone in each of its 7,000 cabs in the city.

Passengers or travellers can talk directly to English operators when there has a difficult communication with the taxi driver of Qiangsheng.

Route distance from 3 to 10km: 2.1RMB per km plus first 11RMB for first 3km.
